    Cheryl Pepper adopted her first dog, Skunk, a German shorthaired pointer, from the Southwest Washington Humane Society. She later adopted Hunter, who died of cancer. Six years ago, she found Pete through Petfinder. Then she added a 7-year-old Jewel.
